WHAT THE STUDIES SAY

According to Life Extension’s press materials, several specific points stand out:

1) 12 weeks, 400 mg per day

Life Extension refers to a study in which 60 overweight individuals took either 400 mg of Moro orange extract per day or a placebo for 12 weeks. In the extract group, more significant changes in body measurements were observed, especially around the waist and hips, with reported reductions of up to 7 cm in waist circumference and almost 6 cm around the hips.*

2) 6 months, structured plan + walking

Life Extension also mentions a six-month study with 136 volunteers, designed to be as objective as possible. Participants were randomly divided into two groups, and during the trial neither they nor the researchers knew who was receiving the actual extract and who was getting a placebo. Those in the active group took the extract while also following a reduced-calorie diet and adding regular walking – 30 minutes, three times a week. According to their description, this combination led to greater weight loss and a more pronounced reduction in abdominal fat, including both subcutaneous and visceral fat (the type that accumulates around the organs).*

HOW TO TURN THIS INTO A JANUARY PLAN THAT ACTUALLY WORKS

1) Week one: getting back to normal without extremes

For every meal, stick to a simple rule: protein + vegetables + a reasonable portion of carbs. Drink 2–3 litres of fluids a day and aim for 8,000–10,000 steps, or 30–45 minutes of brisk walking.

2) Short strength training three times a week
