Tired legs / feeling of heaviness in the legs: Lack of exercise, sitting or standing for long periods, tight clothing, high-heeled shoes, and extreme heat can all cause a feeling of heaviness in the legs. The flow of blood through the veins back to the heart is temporarily reduced by the typically lopsided strain, so the surrounding tissue, and especially the muscles, can no longer be adequately supplied with oxygen.
